New agreement between Siemens Mobility and RazorSecure to enhance rail cybersecurity
Global rolling stock operators could see enhanced rail cybersecurity monitoring solutions enter the market following a cooperation agreement between Siemens Mobility and UK-based RazorSecure. Siemens Mobility explains the adoption of digitalization requires adequate protection against cyberattacks.
RazorSecure is described as a rail cybersecurity solutions specialist and Siemens Mobility provides smart digital asset management systems; the two firms will pool their individual expertise to secure complex transport systems.
“Real-time monitoring and the earliest possible detection of irregularities in the IT and software structure of our trains are the only way to ensure 100 percent fleet availability while maintaining the highest level of cybersecurity. RazorSecure can help us achieve this goal with their expertise and proven solutions,” said Johannes Emmelheinz, CEO customer service at Siemens Mobility.
Siemens Mobility says it is committed to guaranteeing the availability of rail systems. The company launched the Alliance for Availability, which unites experts from several companies working toward a common aim of providing 100 percent rail system availability. The cooperation agreement will see RazorSecure become part of Siemens Mobility’s partner ecosystem.
“The rail industry needs innovative solutions that are designed specifically for its unique challenges. By partnering with Siemens Mobility, we are able to collaborate and build on our product portfolio with the rail cybersecurity expertise, to offer the best comprehensive solutions that enhance the protection of rolling stock,” said Alex Cowan, CEO of RazorSecure.
