TÜV Rheinland to Hold Functional Safety Program in Chicago Area
TÜV Rheinland is holding a Functional Safety Training Program, providing an opportunity for professionals in functional safety product development to deepen their knowledge and experience within the area of functional safety according to IEC 61508.
Functional safety is applicable across all industry sectors and fundamental to the enabling the use of complex technology for safety-related systems. It assures that safety-related systems will offer the necessary risk reduction required to achieve safety for people, the environment and equipment.
This program is designed for engineers and developers who are developing programmable electronic safety systems and products based on the IEC 61508 standard. The training imparts basic knowledge enabling developers to implement the safety related requirements most effectively. Additionally, attendees will learn about important new aspects of the IEC 61508 edition 2.
The program will include three days of training, and participants can take an optional exam on the fourth day to obtain an official verification of their expertise. By passing a final exam, attendees will receive a TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Engineer certificate, which is acknowledged worldwide and states that specific knowledge within the field of "Hardware/Software Design according to IEC 61508" has been achieved.
The four-day program will take place from June 18-21 at TÜV Rheinland's Chicago office, 2100 Golf Road, in Rolling Meadows, Ill. The cost is $2,950 with an exam and $2,650 without an exam. To register or learn more, go to http://education.tuv.com/tuv-functional-safety-program.
