DataPath Launches GATE-5000 Self-Contained Remote Networking System
DataPath, Inc. has announced the launch of a series of Gateway Access Transportable Equipment (GATE) networking kits. Using a DataPath GATE-5000 ruggedized kit with either satellite or cellular connectivity provides users with one consolidated access point to the Internet, public switched telephone network and secure virtual private networks (VPNs). The kit's transportability and simplified user panel make the solution ideal for remote operations such as newsgathering, government and military, disaster recovery, and oil and gas applications.
The kits complement DataPath's popular line of modular and easy to deploy portable satellite communications terminals, but are also compatible with any Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT). Each GATE-5000 system is completely self-contained in one, airline-checkable transit case that can be transported by one person.
Designed to be fully customizable both in the components and user interface, the GATE-5000 product line is available in configurations for broadcast, military and industrial users. The broadcast variant, GATE-5100, for example, can be outfitted with the broadcaster's choice of modem and the broadcaster's choice of video encoding device. While tailored to the user's specific requirements, a typical kit can consolidate a modem, Cisco router, 10-port Ethernet switch, simultaneous 2.4 and 5 GHz wireless LAN, multimode 3G and 4G LTE wireless WAN, and Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) for voice and fax all into a simple, easy to deploy system.
"Our customers need solutions engineered with both flexibility and ease-of-use," said David Myers, president and CEO of DataPath. "We are proud to introduce the GATE-5000 product line, which is fully customizable to each customer's application environment. By incorporating a simplified user panel, end users can connect their remote operation by satellite or cellular quickly and easily, no matter where their mission may take them."
