DC: Metro Transit Police Investigating Report of Attempted Abduction Aboard 92 Bus
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Transit Police are investigating an attempted abduction of a 7-year-old boy aboard a 92 Metrobus the morning if August 30.
The victim was traveling to school aboard the bus this morning, accompanied by his 13-year-old sister, when they were approached by the suspect, an adult female who was not known to them. The suspect asked, "Where are your parents?" The victim stated that he was traveling with his sister, at which point, the suspect told the victim, "When I get off this bus, you're coming with me. We going to the feds." Subsequently, the suspect told the older sibling, "Like I said, he coming with me."
The children told the suspect to get away from them. Other passengers intervened, assisted them off bus and placed them on another bus.
The incident was reported to school administrators upon the victim's arrival at school.
The suspect is described as a black female, age 30-50, approximately 5'2" - 5'5" in height, 160-170 lbs, brown eyes, brown hair in a short Afro style.
MTPD detectives are interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed this incident aboard the 92 bus. In addition, detectives are working to identify the bus that the victim was riding to obtain video of the incident and a photo of the suspect, a process that will take additional time because the exact bus number is not yet known
