TransIT Driver Recognized for 20 Years of Safe Driving

TransIT Services of Frederick County has recognized Fixed Route Driver Chris Wilson for 20 years of safe driving. Wilson is the first TransIT Driver to receive this recognition. TransIT identifies safe driving as no incidents, preventable accidents, or traffic violations while operating a TransIT vehicle. Fulltime Fixed Route drivers typically average driving around 100 miles per day.
Wilson has been a driver for TransIT since September of 1992 and celebrated his 25th year with Frederick County at the end of last month. In his time with Frederick County, Wilson has been nominated for TransIT and the Transportation Association of Maryland’s (TAM) Driver of the Year awards in 2009, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. He was the recipient of both organizations’ Driver of the Year Award in 2009
In recognition for his achievements, Chris Wilson received a commemorative plaque, jacket and celebration with peers. Wilson will also be recognized in a bus advertisement.
