Trespasser Struck at MBTA Andover CR.

On January 11, 2018 at approximately 10:10PM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to Andover for a person possibly struck by a train.

On January 11, 2018 at approximately 10:10PM Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Transit Police officers assigned to the North District received a radio call to respond to Andover for a person possibly struck by a train. Several TPD units along with Andover Fire and EMS responded. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: a female while trespassing on the right of way in the vicinity of 100 yards south of Ballardville Station was struck by an outbound Haverhill Line MBTA commuter rail train . The female, approx age of 41, has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.

Transit Police detectives along with the Essex County DA's Office are investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. Foul play is NOT suspected.

Approximately 50 passengers on board were transferred onto MBTA buses.
