The Denton County Transportation Authority will be conducting positive train control (PTC) testing along the A-train commuter rail line to meet the federal mandate required by the Federal Transit Administration. The testing will start at 10 p.m. and go until 3:30 a.m. and cause crossing signals between North Lake and South MedPark in Denton to come down as much as every 15 minutes. Crossing arms will be down no longer than one minute at a time. All crossings will not be down at the same time.
The A-train crossings that will be tested this week are: Kelton, Hickory, Carlisle, Betchan, Main, West Hundley, West Overly, Swisher, Burl, New Corinth, Quail Run, Corinth Pkwy, N. Corinth and Shady Shores.
PTC testing at these A-train crossing locations will go from Monday, April 9, until Thursday, April 12, from 10 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. each day. DCTA will conduct additional PTC testing over the next few months and will notify riders accordingly.
