MDOT MTA Police Sponsor National Night Out Activities at Neighborhood Transit Stations

The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration Police will celebrate National Night Out with the Baltimore community on Tuesday, August 7.

The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration Police announced it will celebrate National Night Out with the Baltimore community on Tuesday, August 7. This national event encourages interaction between neighbors as a crime prevention tool and enables MDOT MTA police to reinforce transit safety techniques in an informal atmosphere.  

“MDOT MTA Police appreciate the value of National Night Out as a hands-on way to demonstrate MDOT MTA’s commitment to safety on public transit and as part of our continued effort to strengthen our relationship with neighborhoods and communities we serve,” said MDOT MTA Chief of Police Colonel John E. Gavrilis.  

For the past four years, MDOT MTA has maintained the safest transit system out of the top 12 U.S. transit agencies. During National Night Out, MDOT MTA Police invite the public to join them at the following local events:

  • Rogers Avenue Metro SubwayLink Station at 4300 Hayward Avenue
    from 6-8 p.m.
  • Patapsco Light RailLink Station at 751 West Patapsco Avenue
    from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
