MDOT MTA police join with riders for national night out
To celebrate National Night Out, the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) Police will be at two Baltimore transit stations to discuss safety and engage with the community.
National Night Out, taking place August 6, is aimed at strengthening relationships between police and the community.
“The MDOT MTA Police Force appreciates the opportunity National Night Out gives us as a hands-on way to demonstrate our commitment to safety on public transit,” said MDOT MTA Chief of Police Col. John E. Gavrilis.
MDOT MTA Police will be at the Rogers Avenue Metro Subway Station, 4300 Hayward Ave., from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, and will also be at the West Baltimore MARC Station, 400 N. Smallwood St., from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
According to MDOT MTA, it has consistently maintained the safest transit system of the top 12 U.S. transit agencies over the past four years. MDOT MTA Police invite anyone who is interested in actively promoting safety and community engagement to join them during National Night Out.
