TxDOT signs two-year contract with Statewide Safety Systems
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) awarded awarded a two-year contract to Statewide Safety Systems to provide services and equipment for its operations in Wood and Van Zandt counties. As part of the agreement, Statewide will supply more than a dozen employees daily, as well as equipment, including pilot vehicles and truck-mounted attenuators.
TxDOT is responsible for maintaining 80,000 miles of road and supporting aviation, maritime, rail and public transportation across the state. Statewide expanded its operations into nearby Tyler, Texas, in 2019, and continues to grow its service offerings in eastern Texas.
“Eastern Texas is a rapidly growing area. The city of Tyler alone has a larger population than many better known places such as Fort Myers, Florida and Green Bay, Wisconsin,” said Travis Riley, Texas regional manager for Statewide Traffic Safety & Signs. “As the region grows, providing safe work zones is a critical component that Statewide specializes in.”
“For nearly 20 years, Statewide and its predecessor company, Altus Traffic Management, have been proud to partner with TxDOT to provide safe, reliable and cost-effective services for the people of Texas,” said Don Nicholas, CEO of Statewide Safety Systems. “This is an exciting opportunity to continue our partnership as the company continues to expand its footprint.”
