The Safe Turn Alert System delivers an audible and visual alert to pedestrians and cyclists at crosswalks when a bus is turning. During a turn, the bus makes an announcement and flashes visual LEDs. By alerting through an audible and visual warning, pedestrians and cyclists gain additional time to react – which can be enough time to avoid a near-miss or collision. Used in revenue service for more than 10 years at various U.S. agencies, this product addresses safety issues as agencies continue to add quieter, energy-efficient, electric buses to their fleets.
