Behavioral Recognition: An Innovative Approach to Mass Transit Security and Public Safety
Mass transit operators must continually enhance safety and protection – for passengers, for employees and for facilities - in spite of an increasing range of threats. At the same time, transit budgets are being squeezed as never before. With fewer resources available, operators must find simple, cost-efficient means to improve protection and increase productivity for security staff. There is a new approach that is helping to meet this challenge - a new category of video surveillance technology that autonomously learns which on-camera behaviors are “normal” and which are “suspicious”. These solutions enable transit agencies to allocate security personnel far more efficiently as they identify critical threats to passengers, employees and facilities in real-time - without spending large amounts of time and money to program and manage each individual camera.
