UCLA Selects TripShot to replace four separate technology providers with unified mobility management solution
UCLA has awarded a contract to TripShot to replace its disconnected and hardware-heavy technology platforms for one cloud-based solution.
TripShot’s platform was implemented with UCLA’s fleet in less than 10 days.
Using a lightweight approach, TripShot simplified UCLA’s mobility management operations by replacing multiple vendors all at once. Vendors included a service planning technology, a fixed route real-time arrival technology, an on-demand technology and a maintenance and inspection solution. By consolidating operations into one mobility technology platform, UCLA will save on costs and deliver a more cohesive rider, driver and transit manager experience across the campus.
“We’re excited to take the UCLA campus and larger mobility ecosystem to the next level. We completed an extensive RFP process and considered multiple technologies, ultimately deciding on TripShot,” said Matthew Corbin, assistant director/general manager of operations at UCLA. “We look forward to welcoming students and faculty back to campus with an intuitive, accessible and future-facing technology solution for our vehicle fleets and surrounding transportation.”
UCLA has already begun testing the solution with plans to implement TripShot throughout their service offerings. TripShot will power UCLA’s fixed route Bruin Bus and the university’s On Demand Bruin Access & Safe Ride programs, delivering accurate ETA’s with TripShot’s TrueTime™, up-to-the-second, GPS-based location data to managers, drivers and riders.
Additionally, TripShot’s GTFS-RT export and import capabilities will allow UCLA riders to connect with public transit and other mobility options throughout the community. TripShot says it is excited to build with UCLA as a technology-first partner, bringing a constantly updating software solution as the university grows its services capabilities.
“We are moving into a new era, an era we believe will be dominated by those who choose to harness technology for the benefit of the many,” said Rob Antoniak, chief customer officer, TripShot. “We are delighted to quickly implement our solution for the UCLA community as they plan to return to campus this Fall. Our work together now, will bring UCLA the technology foundation to meet the ever-expanding need for sustainable, safe and accessible transit.”
