    Improved UTA Bus Stops Coming to Harrison Blvd

    Utah Transit Authority has announced that work is starting soon to add shelters, benches, garbage cans and cement pads to stops along Ogden’s Harrison Boulevard between 2nd Street and Weber State University.

    Utah Transit Authority has announced that work is starting soon to add shelters, benches, garbage cans and cement pads to stops along Ogden’s Harrison Boulevard between 2nd Street and Weber State University. UTA hopes to improve 10 to 20 stops this summer and ultimately add rider amenities to 50 stops along this stretch of road.

    UTA Engineering and Construction Planner Jake Splan said the organization worked with Ogden City leaders to select this corridor for improvement. Routes 455, 473, 603, 625 and 645 run on Harrison and serve destinations like the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind, Ben Lomond and Ogden high schools, Weber State University and McKay-Dee Hospital. Other projects are the result of specific rider requests, such as work to add 400 feet of sidewalk and a new bus stop near Harrison and 36th Street.

    These stop improvements are among many ways UTA is using Prop 1 funds to improve the system.
