Morrissey to Lead Transportation Planning and Environment in California at WSP
Sam Morrissey has been named manager of the California and Nevada planning and environmental technical excellence center for transportation at WSP USA.
In his new position, Morrissey, who is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, is responsible for supporting diversification and growth, driving strategic direction, and managing the planning and environment team for several of the firm’s offices in California.
Morrissey has nearly two decades of experience in the transportation industry, covering broad areas of project management and delivery, as well as marketing, business development, and client relations. Recently, his focus has been on leading high-performance teams to deliver actionable solutions to public agencies in the areas of bus rapid transit, connected and automated vehicles, and emerging transportation technologies. Throughout his career, Morrissey has served in leadership positions in both the public and private sectors, with a focus on inspiring diverse teams in the development and delivery of innovative solutions to complex transportation challenges.
A licensed professional engineer in California and Hawaii, Morrissey received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He serves as co-lecturer for two transportation engineering and planning courses in the school of engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles.
