Urban Solar has been awarded a five-year contract to supply solar powered LED lighting systems to Topeka Metro.
After a competitive bidding process, Urban Solar’s shelter lighting solutions won the top pick. “We chose Urban Solar because their product is of proven quality and the price is very reasonable,” said Chip Falldine, chief financial officer for Topeka Metro.
The stand-alone, solar-powered bus shelter lighting solution reduces the need for disruptive and expensive trenching for utility poles to each bus shelter. All Urban Solar Products are UL Listed as complete solar lighting systems.
“Topeka Metro is an innovative agency and a leader for efficiency and renewable technology use within its bus stop and transit operations,” said Ben Guriel, senior business development manager at Urban Solar. “This competitive award is further evidence of Urban Solar’s technology – high-performance, reliable and independently safety certified solar-powered LED lighting solutions.”
