TransLink has introduced Compass Mini, a small Compass Card that attaches to keychains and backpacks, as another way to pay from transit in Metro Vancouver.
“The launch of Compass Mini is a part of our commitment to enhance the customer experience,” said TransLink CEO Kevin Desmond. “Compass Wristbands have been a real hit and I’m sure customers will enjoy the convenience and practicality of the new Compass Mini.”
Compass Mini works the same as the Compass Card and Compass Wristband; tap in and out when traveling on transit and reload online, at a Compass Vending Machine, by phone or in person. Just like any other Compass product, there is a $6 refundable deposit when purchasing a Mini.
TransLink released 5,000 blue adult Minis and 2,500 orange concession Minis on Dec. 6.
Riders can visit the Compass Customer Service Centre at Stadium–Chinatown Station or the West Coast Express Office in Waterfront Station to pick up a Mini while supplies last.
Compass Mini is the latest convenience upgrade TransLink has made for customers.
Over the past year, TransLink has also:
Added digital customer information kiosks to help commuters find transit routes and access live schedules across the system.
Introduced American Express as another credit card payment option allowing customers to tap their credit card at faregates to purchase an adult fare.
Opened a new SkyTrain Assistance Counter at Commercial-Broadway Station.
