The Greater Dayton RTA has announced it will once again offer a special travel deal for teens over the summer. The Summer Passport will go on sale May 22 and will provide unlimited travel options for three months for the low price of $55. In addition, the agency’s added Fifth Third Bank to its list of locations where the passes can be purchased.
The pass is a $110 savings for teens over the RTA’s 31-day pass. Area students between the ages of 13 and 18 are eligible to purchase it. The Summer Passport allows for carefree travel for students on any fixed route and at any time between June 1 and August 31. The pass would also cover the first few weeks of school in August for most districts, which also represents a savings.
“We are excited to offer our Summer Passport program. We know by providing area youth increased access to our services we will connect them to summer jobs, recreational and educational opportunities throughout our region,” Chief Customer and Business Development Officer Brandon Policicchio said.
RTA is also partnering with locals schools and organizations to promote the program to eligible students.
Summer Passports can be purchased at the Wright Stop Plaza ticket window between the hours of 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and at the Northwest Transit Center ticket window every day between 4:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. The passes will also be sold at participating Fifth Third Bank locations around the Greater Dayton area during regular business hours.
Students must show a picture school ID, a driver’s license, or an Ohio ID along with their Summer Passport to board an RTA bus.
