The agency will streamline and unify its communications with a next-generation dispatch console.

The city of Longueuil, Quebec, has selected Omnitronics’ omnicore radio dispatch system to connect buses enn route with operators at their central command and communications center. The system will be installed and commissioned in 2021.

RTL, the city’s transit corporation, needed to upgrade its existing radio dispatch system to continue the vision to increase operations efficiencies, safety and care for staff and customers by streamlining and unifying communications with a next-generation dispatch console.

RTL’s improved processes meant that its dispatch system of choice needed to fulfil very specific industry requirements. RTL chose Omnitronics’ omnicore Scalable Enterprise Dispatch, which is built with the requirements of transport and utilities organizations in mind. Omnitronics can also customize omnicore to suit the specific business needs of RTL. Special features include an integration of intelligence from the customer’s transport activity management system, which will deliver driver and vehicle data directly to console operators. Additional features include a highly advanced call queue and the ability to dynamically create radio talk groups on a Tait DMR Tier 3 radio system.

“The solution is a perfect fit for RTL. Thanks to our ability to offer customized solutions, the omnicore enterprise dispatch system will be a custom-fit for the immediate and future needs of RTL,” said Omnitronics Vice President of the Americas Jean-Paul Maas. “As the organization grows, they will easily be able to add additional operators and talk-paths. RTL will benefit from future omnicore enhancements at no additional cost, as an inclusion of the service we offer under our omnicare premium support and maintenance plans.”
