Ecolane selected by TDOT to provide scheduling and dispatch software to transit agencies statewide across Tennessee
Ecolane has been selected by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) to provide scheduling and dispatch software to transit agencies statewide across Tennessee.
Twenty-five transit agencies provide public transportation services to all 95 counties of Tennessee. According to the National Transit Database, these agencies provided more than 27 million trips on more than 1400 vehicles in 2019.
With post-pandemic ridership recovering in Tennessee, choosing the leading transit software solution to leverage available resources and increase efficiency goes a long way to stretching taxpayer dollars and getting people back to work, play and all things in between.
“We are truly excited to partner with TDOT to provide their agencies with an end-to-end scheduling solution that allows them the ability to continuously optimize their schedules in real time,” said Keith Robbins, Ecolane’s vice president of sales. “This reduces fuel costs and miles driven, as well as maximizes their vehicle occupancy.”
Ecolane says Tennessee agencies will join 300-plus transit agencies worldwide who already benefit from flexible, real-time dispatching software built around their needs and customized to their operating environments.
“I’m excited for another opportunity to showcase Ecolane’s best-in-class software and our unrivaled customer onboarding process,” said Matt Taylor, Ecolane’s vice president of operations. “Following our unprecedented successful statewide implementation in Pennsylvania, we look forward to building more long-lasting relationships with each agency in Tennessee.”
With Ecolane, riders can access VPAT-certified accessible mobile apps that let them plan and book trips, see vehicles approaching on the map, get notifications for upcoming trips and call the agency directly.
“The software technology that we use and the benefits we provide help agencies leverage existing resources to serve increasing demand for mobility from their communities and enhance rider experiences,” said Spiro Gjorgjievski, president of Ecolane. “With the plethora of value-added apps that we offer to transit agencies and their riders, we put mobility at their fingertips.”
