In Livermore, California Tolar Manufacturing Company helped launch Livermore Amador Transit Authority’s BRT service by creating four unique bus shelters designed around two critical elements – a printed transit map and real-time passenger information. Working in concert to build rider confidence, the oversize map display is centrally located on the rear wall of the shelter in close proximity to the roof-installed real-time digital passenger information.
“Passengers waiting at a bus stop are most at ease when the trip planning information they often obtain in advance from their mobile device is supported at the bus stop,” stated Patrick Merrick, EVP, Tolar Manufacturing Company. “Printed maps visually confirm their trip while digital real-time information confirms their bus is on its way. All of this builds passenger confidence and ridership.”
