New partnership brings Free2Move carsharing to the Transit app in D.C. and Arlington
Free2Move and Transit have announced a new partnership that aims to make it easier for people in the Washington, D.C., area to get around without a personal vehicle.
Now, users in the area can view the nearest available Free2Move vehicles in the app. After selecting a vehicle in Transit, users can seamlessly reserve one of the 500 vehicles available in the Free2Move app.
To celebrate this new addition, Transit users who sign up with Free2Move for the first time receive $10 in driving credit using a special promotional code.
Free2Move, a free-floating carsharing service, is the newest D.C. mobility option available in Transit, joining seven scooter operators, two free-floating bikeshare options, Capital Bikeshare, Metro, Uber, Lyft, Via and additional transit services. With Free2Move, Transit users in Washington, D.C., now have a range of transportation options – all visible in one place. Combining these mobility options offers simplicity and flexibility for Washingtonians on the move.
“This new partnership between Transit and Free2Move kicks things into top gear,” said David Block-Schachter, chief business officer at Transit. “When riders have all their options in one app, it’s easier than ever to get moving in and around the city. Free2Move is a natural partner for Transit, and together we’re ready to bust a move for the mobility future that DC deserves.”
Brigitte Courtehoux, Free2Move CEO, added, "We are excited to partner with Transit app in order to provide residents of D.C. and Arlington with solutions that simplify their daily mobility. With the addition of Free2Move, Transit app members can receive the benefits of free-floating carsharing. As we continue to increase our presence in the U.S., Transit app will be a great partner for our next city."
