ABQ RIDE will fully transition from the current app, ABQRIDE+, to Transit App starting April 1.
Transit App provides passengers with a Plan Your Trip feature, a transit companion to time out a trip to and from the bus stop and a live bus function so riders know where their bus is.
“The Transit App will offer some great resources for our current riders and those new to ABQ RIDE,” said Transit Interim Director Stephanie Dominguez. “Our hope is to make riding the bus easy and accessible for everyone.”
One of the most welcome new tools for riders is the predicted arrival times as opposed to the previous scheduled arrival times. Other features will include access to an online version of the app, an enhanced version of the TXT2RIDE function which allows passengers to access schedule information and phone numbers that will provide predicted arrival information in English and Spanish.
ABQ RIDE passengers will also have access to Transit Royale at no charge. The upgrade includes advanced features such as additional departure times, more transit lines and trips and custom themes. There are also fun features like GO celebrity status, Ride with Friends and location icons.
To assist with the transition, riders who currently use ABQRIDE+ will be directed to download the new app available in the Apple App Store and Google Play.
