STAR Transit is now utilizing software from TripSpark to establish ways in which riders can receive service reminders and updates about their scheduled trips.
“This month, we initiated this dependable communication system that will help to keep using transit hassle free,” said STAR Transit Executive Director Tommy Henricks.
Riders will receive phone calls and/or text messages from STAR Transit with Trip Reminders, Trip Confirmations, Trip Cancellations and Trip Changes, such as a time adjustment. Riders will be able to confirm or cancel their trip prior to the date of the scheduled trip without having to call in or speak to a reservationist. Riders will also receive a notice via call or text when their vehicle is on route. Only riders who have scheduled trips will receive communications.
STAR Transit notes trips that are pre-booked to occur every day are considered a subscription and riders will not receive notifications for that trip. Riders may opt out of receiving trip notifications by calling a customer service agent.
