Connectpoint debuted its latest technology product, the Falcon, an ADA compliant solar powered text-to-speech real-time messaging system that offers a low-cost solution to providing passenger information 24/7 at the bus-stop level.
Connectpoint’s Falcon is a text-to-speech device that provides plug and play real-time multi language voice announcements offering a variety of dynamic messaging options, including real-time or scheduled next departure information and alerts. Additionally, introductory messages, such as PSAs, can be delivered. The device incorporates an integrated solar film skin, CAT-M1 IoT connectivity and back-up battery power.
The Falcon uses low energy consumption, connects wirelessly and provides always-on customer arrival information and alerts at every stop across the network. Connectpoint says the product is an eco-friendly, energy-efficient solution for today’s smart city environment (IP 66 environmental rating).
Deployment requires bolting the integrated locking mount to any bus-stop pole or shelter, can be installed as a stand-alone device at bus stops, rail stations and transit hubs and is less expensive than a typical digital display. It comes with a five-year guarantee.
“When we commenced development on the Falcon, our goal was to provide the transit industry with a cost-effective standalone real-time information device that is solar powered and provides accessibility to all customers,” said Rick Wood, president and CEO, Connectpoint. “The Falcon is an affordable option for tier 2 and 3 stops as well as a system’s heavier stops.”
The Falcon’s power, volume and content are remotely monitored and managed by the Connectpoint Asset Management System (CPAM™) from the convenience of a desktop or mobile device. This cloud-based software is intuitive and customizable, allowing agencies to deliver real time alerts via the agency’s real-time feed, as well as schedule custom messages for their riders, such as holiday schedules and promotions. This tool gives agencies the freedom to remotely control as many products as they please through one integrated backend system.
