Blip Systems and Bandwidth Telecommunications have announced they have entered into a reseller partnership. Bandwidth Telecommunications is now offering BlipTrack, which is going to deliver journey time, origin and destination, traffic congestion monitoring, and traffic management solutions to congested Irish cities and roads.
Commenting on the agreement, Eamonn O´Donnell, managing director of Bandwidth Telecommunications Ltd., said, “We are pleased to be representing Blip Systems in Ireland. BlipTrack works by placing small sensors in road networks. By anonymously tracking Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices, such as mobile phones, tablets and hands-free installations in cars, it is possible to measure flow and calculate travel time. The ability to obtain traffic flow data in real time offers road authorities the ability to proactively manage the road network to minimize delays and congestion. This leads not only to significant economic benefits through reduced travel times and fuel consumption, but also reduced CO2 emissions and improved air quality.
