Black Box Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Certification for 21st Consecutive Year
Black Box Corp. announced Dec. 10 that its North American operations received ISO 9001:2008 certification. This marks the 21st time the company has achieved this certification for meeting rigorous quality management system standards.
“Quality management is critical to our clients’ success,” commented Mike McAndrew, president and chief executive officer. “CIOs want a partner that understands the importance of quality process and has invested in standardizing quality in their daily operating activity. This certification demonstrates that Black Box is the reliable partner CIOs need to reach their business objectives.”
To receive ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System certification, Black Box demonstrated compliance with a number of quality management principles including a strong client focus, the motivation and commitment of top management, process approach and continual improvement. The ISO certification also confirms that Black Box’s quality monitoring and corrective action processes address any issues should a lapse occur.
ISO is the world’s largest developer of voluntary International Standards. Its standards cover almost all aspects of technology and business. The audit, completed in November, was performed by external auditor Intertek Systems. The certification includes Black Box’s North American Products and Services operations.
