RideScout on June 30 announced they have acquired GlobeSherpa. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, and the transactions were completed on June 29.
“As the transportation landscape becomes more crowded, both the user and mobility service providers are looking for a more seamless experience,” said RideScout Co-Founder and CEO Joseph Kopser. “Integrating mobile ticketing for public and private transportation is critical as we continue to innovate on a central platform for booking, payment, and access to all services. We are thrilled to welcome GlobeSherpa into the RideScout family and, together, shape transportation for the 21st Century.”
As RideScout begins to integrate GlobeSherpa’s technology, users will be able to see all transportation options on their mobile device. GlobeSherpa will also continue to bring mobile ticketing to transit agencies across the U.S. and beyond.
“RideScout has established a brand and technology that embodies the future of transportation,” said GlobeSherpa CEO and Co-Founder Nat Parker. “By bringing our teams together, GlobeSherpa is positioned to have the resources and scale to deliver comprehensive solutions that advance our vision for an integrated commute - where access to information, payment, and mobility services are organized intelligently on your mobile device.”
GlobeSherpa is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of RideScout, with operations remaining in Portland, Oregon. CEO Nat Parker will continue to lead the company with current staff. This new partnership gives GlobeSherpa added resources and capabilities to expand in North America and internationally.
