ETA Transit Systems iannounced the introduction of its real time arrivals and electronic passenger counting to North Carolina Central University’s (NCCU) campus shuttle service.
“The transition to ETA’s Spot system allows us to continue to meet the demands of our growing campus community,” says NCCU Transportation Director Chassem Anderson. “We will use these new systems to track student commuting behavior and use that information to fine tune our operations and plan for future expansion.”
With plans to grow its fleet, NCCU identified a need to implement a technology that would grow with the university. Count NCCU Dean of Students Gary L. Brown among the supporters of the new transit systems. “Student success is paramount and informs every decision we implement at NCCU. The easier we can make if for our students to get to class on time, the greater their opportunity to capitalize on their educational experience.”
Adds Anderson, “When one of our busses experienced a mechanical failure and we needed a way to notify our students about the delay. ETA quickly developed an enhancement to their mobile platform that pushed the word out quickly. They truly deliver upon their pledge of fanatical customer service before, during, and after installation.”
