Siemens Introduces Stainless Steel HMI Devices

Jan. 8, 2016

A dairy is not a steel mill. What sounds like a matter of course is reflected in special regulations and specifications for plants and machines in food and beverage industry.

Simatic HMI offers adapted versions of its operator interfaces for this industry. The devices are modified in more than just one aspect to meet the requirements not only of the operation in dairies. Panels and Panel PCs with touch screens and stainless steel fronts are designed for operator control.

They are based on DIN EN 1672-2 "Food processing machinery – Safety and hygiene requirements." The external dimensions and installation cut-out are the same as for standard products. The optimized frame is almost flush with the control cabinet.

The IP65 stainless steel keyboard is the perfect supplement for the comfortable entry of larger amounts of data.
