A new and improved UTA website is coming your way. In response to rider feedback, UTA is planning to launch a completely redesigned website that will better serve riders by making it easier to get information they need to use transit. The new website will launch mid-February and will include a number of major new feature features, including compatibility with mobile devices, more streamlined navigation and automated vehicle locator (AVL) technology.

The new site will allow riders to more conveniently access schedules, the UTA Trip Planner and all other pages from a smart phone or tablet.

“Sixty-eight percent of our 500,000 monthly website visitors use mobile technology to access our site,” said UTA Interim President and CEO Jerry Benson. “We wanted to make sure that these riders can quickly, easily access UTA information on the go.”

The updated website will feature a new vehicle locator tool that will enable riders to quickly see the real-time location of their bus or train on a map. Like all other aspects of the site, the vehicle locator is mobile friendly and can be used from any tablet or smart phone.

Other improvements include a streamlined design, easier to read schedules and fast access to our Twitter feed, where riders can find service alerts. The site also features prominent links to fares and resources for first-time riders.

The website was created with help from local web development experts Axis 41, many of whom are frequent UTA riders. User testing and customer feedback was also used to shape new features and determine which aspects of the current site to improve. The site was tested and reviewed by UTA’s Community Transportation Activation Committee, comprised of riders who volunteer their time to help improve UTA.
