ETA Transit Refreshes its Website as a Transit Information Portal
ETA Transit Systems has hit the refresh button on its corporate website. It was a re-focusing of purpose, geared to position the 14-year old intelligent transit system veteran as an informational destination for transit agencies.
“As a company, we’ve experienced just about every situation in transit,” noted ETA Transit CEO Nicole Castonguay. “A key focus in our new site was to bring that wisdom to the forefront; not just as a sales pitch, but as an informational destination for agencies to learn about what options are out there and how much technology can positively impact their operations. Not every transit organization has the financial resources to invest in industry memberships and market research. We’re leveraging our experience to provide free resources such as videos, downloads, white papers, webinars, and blogs to help create a savvy, informed transit customer.”
Visitors to the site will experience a rich environment built around social interaction and ready to access information critical to the decision-making process.
ETA President John Maglio championed the new strategy. “Our market research has indicated that almost 78 percent of transit operators aren’t thrilled with their current ITS solution. When we peeled back the reason for this high statistic, the reasons boiled down to two main areas: the technology purchased didn’t deliver on all the operational needs of the agency, and the IT providers proved less-than-responsive in post-launch support.”
“We hope that visitors to our site can learn more about key technologies available and transit concepts that could positively impact their operations and help provide a fundamental understanding of key principles that can inform their decision-making process when they purchase their next ITS,” added Maglio. “Of course, while on our site they’ll have an opportunity to learn about our flagship SPOT ITS, schedule personalized demonstrations, and discover just how well it’s suited to meet current and future marketplace conditions.”
Designed to be a “living website,” etatransit.com will provide visitors the opportunity to help shape and inform marketplace research through on-site surveys and by attending webinars. “One of the key objectives of the site is to create a resource that encourages people to come back to learn new concepts and ideas they can apply to their operations,” noted Castonguay. “By encouraging participation and providing regular updates to this real-world feedback, we believe we can help advance the efficiency of transit operations and help agencies grow their brand and appeal with riders.”
