The Milwaukee County Transit System is unveiling the Quantum Securement System, a cutting edge technology that allows riders in wheelchairs and other mobility devices to secure themselves in place on the bus. Riders have been invited to an open house on Monday, August 21st from 11am to 1pm at the MCTS Fleet Maintenance Building to see and test the system themselves before it goes into regular service this fall.

“We’re proud to unveil this new technology as part of our continued commitment to improving access and the riding experience for all passengers,” said County Executive Chris Abele. “Last year MCTS set a record with more than 100,000 ADA boardings, this Quantum system allows those riders more independence while also also speeding up process for getting on and off the bus.”

The Quantum system will be available on one bus at first, but the goal is to have it on future BRT buses and add it to more buses in the fleet as grant money becomes available.
