The Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority has announced it now offers free Wi-Fi at Music City Central and Riverfront Station downtown for riders.
In October, Metro Information Technology Services and Nashville MTA completed testing on Wi-Fi capabilities at the two transit centers. The service will provide easy access to email, news, and online trip planning services for transit riders.
“Better connectivity allows our customers to move smarter,” said Nashville MTA CEO Steve Bland. “This is yet another recent example of technological improvements that Nashville MTA and Metro ITS are spearheading together to help improve the livelihood of our riders. Customers will now have free access to our real time bus information tools to plan their trips.”
Riders can explore available options for online trip planning, including smartphone applications or website-based tracking, by visiting nashvillemta.org to view the Music City Transit Tracker system.
Future technological improvements and amenities coming to Nashville MTA will include a new fare collection system and Wi-Fi capabilities on buses for rider convenience.
