Following a formal bid recompete process, Dallas Area Rapid Transit has renewed its contract with AlphaVu to provide social media data mining and social listening services for another two years, with two additional option years available. The base contract award is $249,000.
DART selected AlphaVu from a number of qualified proposers. "We've seen over the previous two years how critical this type of data and analysis are, not only for our communications efforts, but in departments across the organization as we make planning, operational, and safety decisions," said Morgan Lyons, vice president, external relations at DART. "AlphaVu offers unique capabilities in data mining and social listening designed for the needs of the public transportation industry, which gave them the edge over other bidders."
"There is a wealth of information out there for public agencies to harness that goes far beyond interactions with their core rider audience. To serve a community effectively, you have to really know it and the best way to do that is by listening. DART has taken a very proactive approach in understanding that they have many different constituencies, the majority of which never engage directly with the agency," said AlphaVu CEO Scott Wilkinson. "This becomes even more critical as national interests try to circumvent local decision-making on infrastructure and mobility. We are excited to continue our work to help DART better educate and engage the North Texas community."
