More than 700 transportation professionals from across the U.S. converged on the Hyatt Regency Riverfront Hotel in Jacksonville, Florida, October 8 – 10, 2018, for one of the nation’s largest showcases of the latest in Smart Cities, connected vehicle and intelligent transportation technology and solutions.
The ITS5C Summit is the joint annual meeting of the five southeastern Intelligent Transportation Societies covering Alabama, the Carolinas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. The organizing chapters are: Gulf Regional ITS, ITS Carolinas, ITS Georgia, ITS Florida and ITS Tennessee.
“The ITS5C Summit is an overwhelming success with sold out sponsorships, exhibits and registrations exceeding our goal by more than 20 percent,” said Jay Calhoun, chairman of the ITS5C Summit organizing committee. “Our theme, ‘Coming Together to Address the Challenge of Connecting Cars, Communities, and Citizens,’ accentuates that transportation has become much more than just a means of travel; it’s an important part of our society and how we live.”
Topics covered during the conference include: autonomous vehicles, connected vehicles, transportation technology and cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence in transportation.
