Via, C Media Bring Wi-fi Service to Chinese Trains
Via Technologies Inc. and C Media, on Aug. 25 announced the launch of a Wi-Fi Service System for passenger trains in China that will ensure free Wi-Fi connectivity for passengers.
Passengers on the more than 700 trains which are being outfitted with Via’s Wi-Fi server hardware can utilize C Media’s “Bamboo Basket” software application suite to log on to the network with their own devices and access entertainment options including free movies, music, and games; popular social media platforms; as well as a host of travel services that include, timetable updates, meal ordering, and ticket reservations.

"We have signed an agreement with six national railway bureaus including Guangzhou, Kunming, Beijing, Zhengzhou, Lanzhou, and Hohhot, to install the systems in over 700 trains."
