INIT to showcase solutions for future of mobility at APTA EXPO

Oct. 26, 2021
The new solutions aim to help transit agencies solver their operational challenges.

INIT Innovations in Transportation, Inc., (INIT) will exhibit at the upcoming APTA TRANSform Conference & EXPO in Orlando, Florida Nov. 8-10, 2021.

“Experience the future of…” is the theme for INIT, which aligns with APTA’s “Connect to what’s next” tagline for the conference. INIT will showcase solutions that help agencies meet their current and future operational challenges, including contactless fare payments, electric vehicle charging and operations, passenger counting and crowd control and planning and optimizing tools.

The future of contactless fares

INIT’s tagline, “The Future of Mobility,” will be the team’s guiding principle throughout the event, whether during sessions, in-person meetings or at the INIT booth, #1331. The tagline serves not only as the company’s driving purpose, but also the catalyst behind its innovative projects that have been realized over the years. Visitors to the booth can experience contactless fare payments through a real-time fare validator or experience user-friendly and accessible ticketing via the ticket vending machine inside the INIT booth.

Electric vehicle operations

Over the years, INIT has played a role in researching and developing software solutions for electric vehicles. The result: an end-to-end electric vehicle product suite for planning, charging and operations management. In 2020, a cloud-based solution to charge and monitor 112 e-buses for one of the largest renewable energy fleets in Northern Europe was  implemented. Learn more about this project and how to charge e-buses at the APTA Learning Zone session on Nov. 9 at 9:30 a.m.

Restoring passenger confidence

Earlier in the pandemic, distancing on public transit became extremely important. Passengers needed to know they could adequately distance themselves from others while onboard a bus. That’s still a concern today. INIT’s 3-D passenger counting technologies are helping agencies restore passenger confidence in public transit again by providing accurate, real-time information on passenger loads. Stop by and take a walk through the portal (door) to see how it works.

Welcome to booth #1331

INIT’s futuristic booth will host two “humanoids” who will engage visitors through selfies, dance performances and a neon ball game. INIT staff will encourage visitors to identify their operational challenges and help them explore solutions through technology demonstrations in the booth. Learn more about what’s happening by listening to INIT's podcast with Lenay Gore, senior director of meetings with APTA.
