MV Transportation Inc. recently announced that board member John Rogers has been named MV's interim chief executive officer, effective immediately, while the board conducts a CEO search process. Rogers, an entrepreneur and an expert on public policy and government affairs, has been a member of the MV board of directors since September 2015.
"John has a deep understanding of our company, culture and challenges by virtue of his active engagement on the board," said MV Board Chairman Lisa Winston Hicks. "His already strong knowledge of our business and plans for our future will help ensure a smooth transition period with MV employees and clients. We are grateful for John's strong commitment to our company."
Rogers succeeds Brian Kibby, CEO since January 2015. "We appreciate Brian's leadership and his contributions over the last two years," said Hicks. "As Brian transitions to his next challenge, he leaves the company in good position to take the next important steps in our development."
During Rogers' 30-year career, he has founded and successfully built companies in the public policy and national security industries. He is the co-founder and current CEO of Capstone National Partners, a Washington, D.C.-based government relations firm. John is also the founder and CEO of RL Leaders, a leadership and management firm that convenes the brightest minds from the entertainment industry to work with national security professionals to develop and apply creative, innovative strategies and solutions to the nation's most pressing challenges. Rogers will be taking a leave of absence from these current positions to focus full time on the MV engagement. He serves as a member of the board of directors for Vendini, a technology company that provides ticketing, marketing, fundraising and patron management solutions.
In 1993, Rogers was appointed by then-President Bill Clinton to several posts at the U.S. Department of Defense, including Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Plans and Operations.
Driven by a profound commitment to public service, Rogers is a founding executive board member of the Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research (CAMR) and served as Vice Chair of the Parkinson's Action Network (PAN). Rogers is the Chairman of the Board for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation and also serves on the board of the Association for the Recovery of Children.
"This is an exciting time for our company and industry," said Rogers. "MV is an amazing company with an inspiring story. Our people, clients and passengers are at the core of our strength. Helping customers solve their challenges and navigating through this transformative period in the transportation space is hugely exciting to me. Together, we can do great things combining state of the art technology with the best, most solid and practical know-how of our workforce. I'm looking forward to embracing the future and being part of this story.”
