The Okaloosa County Commission recently approved the development of a request for proposals from companies interested in serving as the county’s transit services provider.
Its current provider, Orlando-based Maruti Fleet and Management, would be able to respond along with other companies to the RFP.
Maruti provides fixed-route transit service as well as door-to-door transit service for the poor and disabled.
The county’s five-year, roughly $2.6 million per-year contract with Maruti expires Sept. 30, 2020.
