The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) has extended its Spring Break Park-N-Ride promotion to now offer free roundtrip trolley rides from downtown Clearwater to Clearwater Beach.
PSTA and the city of Clearwater partnered earlier this year to solve the reoccurring parking problem during spring break on Clearwater Beach — the solution was public transportation.
“This partnership has certainly demonstrated the value of public transportation,” said Vice President of Tourism for the Clearwater Regional Chamber, Kristina Alspaw. “It has made the Clearwater Beach experience even more enjoyable for our tourists, residents, and even the locals who work down on the beach.”
Interested riders can park their cars at one of three designated Park-N-Ride lots. From there, a PSTA Suncoast Beach Trolley or PSTA’s contracted Jolley Trolley will pick them up and take them across Memorial Causeway and into Clearwater Beach—free of charge.
“Working with the city to solve their parking problem has really allowed us to show our residents and visitors the novelty of riding public transportation,” said PSTA CEO Brad Miller. “The view from a trolley on top of Memorial Causeway is truly one of a kind.”
