Cincinnati Metro adding new service for new Greyhound/Barons Bus station
Cincinnati Metro will add new service along Route 43, serving the new Greyhound/Barons Bus station on Galbraith Road.
“Since its relocation from downtown to Arlington Heights last fall, Cincinnati Metro has been in discussions with Greyhound on how best to continue providing this critical connection for Hamilton County residents to access this inter-regional transportation service,” said Cincinnati Metro Senior Vice President of External Affairs Brandy Jones. “Thanks to those residents’ continued support of our mission, we are pleased to provide this new service.”
The new, enhanced Route 43 will provide 24-hour service to the Galbraith Road Greyhound/Barons Bus station seven days a week, as frequently as every 30 minutes during peak travel times.
Route 85 Riverfront Parking Shuttle
In addition to the enhanced Route 43, the Route 85 Downtown parking shuttle is being proposed for elimination, effective Aug. 15, due to low productivity and ridership levels.
“The decision to terminate any route is never one Cincinnati Metro takes lightly,” Jones said. “However, in the interest of ensuring the highest quality service on those routes our customers use the most, we are considering the difficult choice to end the downtown riverfront parking shuttle service.”
The service adjustments are part of Cincinnati Metro’s ongoing efforts to adjust its fixed-route bus service to the evolving needs of the communities it serves and to ensure service remains as consistent and reliable as possible. The adjustments are critical as Cincinnati Metro continues to address the ongoing labor shortage, initiated by the COVID-19 pandemic, without making cuts to service.
