San Antonio Exercises Options for 15 Xcelsior Buses

New Flyer of America Inc. announced that Via Metropolitan Transit (Via) exercised options for fifteen (15 equivalent units or “EUs”) heavy-duty 40-foot Xcelsior compressed natural gas buses.

New Flyer of America Inc. announced that VIA Metropolitan Transit (Via) exercised options for fifteen (15 equivalent units or “EUs”) heavy-duty 40-foot Xcelsior compressed natural gas buses.

The order is comprised of 15 XN40 Xcelsior buses (15 EUs) and is valued at approximately $7.4 million. The vehicles were purchased through an assignment of options from another US transit agency.

Currently VIA operates 450 buses, 427 of which were built by New Flyer or its subsidiary NABI. 

VIA provides service to the residents of Bexar County, covering 1,212 square miles and the city of San Antonio, TX. Via transported 44.3 million passengers throughout their 2014 fiscal year.
