Axiomtek’s NA120 is a compact low power network appliance with four Gigabit LAN ports which is designed with VIA VX900 chipset and supports the low power VIA NANO U3100 processor for SOHO segment.
The NA120 offers users a high-end and stable network performance with low power consumption and supports high bandwidth DDR3 SO-DIMM slot up to 4 GB system memory. It also features a 2.5" SATA HDD and CompactFlash for storing event log. The network appliance platform supports two PCI Express Mini Card slots for wireless/3G network connection, and offers dual USB 2.0 ports and a console port for local system management, maintenance and diagnostics.
The NA120 is perfectly suitable for firewall, VPN, IDS/IPS, anti-spam, anti-virus and UTM as well as network management applications.
“Axiomtek’s NA120 is a cost-effective entry level network appliance, delivering high throughput and advanced power savings with a low total cost of ownership. In a small form factor, it supports four Gigabit Ethernet ports with one-group LAN bypass function through WDT and GPIO pin definitions to help with unexpected shutdowns. To enhanced reliability, the platform also features BIOS redirection to console port. This desktop network appliance platform is designed for a wide range of security applications in a network security infrastructure,” said Joyce Wu, product manager at Axiomtek.
The NA120 has powerful storage interfaces including one 2.5” SATA HDD and a CompactFlash card. Other I/O features and expansion slot include two USB, one RJ-45 console port, two PCI Express Mini card slots, and system reset switch. For easy maintenance, the front panel has a front-facing LED indicator for power and HDD activity monitoring. Moreover, the desktop embedded platform supports mainstream Linux kernel 2.6 which allows developers to quickly and easily build their solutions.
The low-power yet cost-effective NA120 will be available in August.
