National Express’ relocation to Liverpool ONE Bus station was officially launched by the chair of Merseytravel, Councillor Liam Robinson, who declared it a fantastic move that would make life easier for visitors so they would be eager to return in future.

The UK’s largest coach operator moved all operations to Liverpool ONE last month after more than two decades at the old Liverpool Coach Station in Norton Street, which closed on January 14.

The relocation to the bus station in Canning Place, which is operated by Merseytravel, brings a host of benefits to coach passengers. Customers will alight services much closer to amenities, being just a stone’s throw from Liverpool ONE shopping center's shops, restaurants and the bars.

Meanwhile Liverpool ONE Bus Station includes important high-quality facilities such as a travel center delivering multi-journey tickets and customer information, and on-site security. The move will also give people a choice of a host of onward connections in the city by using the local bus network.

National Express UK Coach finance director Ed Lunt said, “We have a proud history of running coach services to Liverpool and this move marks the beginning of a new chapter. Passengers are now able to get a ticket to ride right into the heart of Liverpool, bringing added convenience to both visitors who want to explore the city and those coming back home.”

Robinson said, “This move by National Express is fantastic and we are glad to welcome their famous white coaches to Liverpool ONE Bus Station. With the convenient location of the bus station people will be able to get to the shops, bars, restaurants and other facilities much more quickly, and catching onward connections will be simpler than ever.”

National Express operates 45 daily services from Liverpool to destinations all over the country including Manchester, Leeds and London.
