- New CEO: Nationally recognized transit industry CEO & General Manager, Terry Garcia Crews, was hired.
- Board governance: The SORTA Board committee structure was aligned with strategic priorities; an orientation process for Board members was formalized to broaden their understanding of the organization.
- DBE and supplier diversity: An aggressive Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program and supplier diversity program were created and implemented.
Dr. Margaret Gutsell: Margaret Gutsell served as vice chair of the SORTA Board since 2010. She was a member of the board since 2007. Gutsell previously served as the executive director of the Inclusion Network; she represented the interests of people with disabilities on the SORTA Board.
