Stefan Marks joins GRTC as chief development officer
Stefan Marks will serve as the Greater Richmond Transit Company's (GRTC) chief development officer (CDO). He joins GRTC from Connectpoint Inc., where he had previously served as director of business development.
“Stefan is a committed and talented professional with a wealth of experience, and I am looking forward to his contributions to improving transit in the Richmond region," said GRTC CEO Sheryl Adams.
Marks brings 30 years of experience, leadership and a strong list of accomplishments to the agency in a time of growth and expansion for transit in the Richmond region. Having previously served as the director of planning and Scheduling in New Orleans, Marks brings significant large-scale transit agency experience in operations, including leading a 33 percent increase in service levels and improving operational efficiency. He is also a leader in agency development, having written successful federal grant applications for major infrastructure projects – a critical skill given GRTC’s work extending and expanding the Pulse BRT network and our ongoing search for a permanent downtown transfer facility.
In his previous role as director of business development with Connectpoint, Marks worked directly with GRTC to deliver the new e-paper signage at the Downtown Transfer Station. The signage, which improves the passenger experience by making it easier to find route and location-specific information, was a major component of the rider-oriented infrastructure GRTC aims to continue delivering throughout the network.
Marks described the situation at GRTC as “exciting and inspirational” and pointed to the regional commitment to transit and opportunities for network and service improvements as top priorities and opportunities.
