Tri-Rail Extends Train Service Hours for Ultra Music Festival
Tri-Rail has announced that it will offer extended train service every night during Ultra Music Festival, March 18-20 at Bayfront Park in Miami. Attendees for the internationally acclaimed electronic music extravaganza can save money on gas and parking by riding Tri-Rail to and from the event.
“Tri-Rail recognizes the increasing demand for expanded public transportation options among residents and visitors, particularly millennials,” said Bonnie Arnold, public information officer of the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA)/Tri-Rail. “Our extended train service for Ultra Music Festival signifies our growing commitment as a safe, convenient way for people to enjoy the best of South Florida.”
Passengers attending Ultra can ride Tri-Rail to the Metrorail Transfer Station and transfer to Metrorail to reach the Government Center Station, then take the free Metromover to the College/Bayside Station. Passengers returning to Tri-Rail from the event can take Metrorail back to the Metrorail Transfer or the Miami Airport Station. The special northbound Tri-Rail train is tentatively scheduled to depart at 1:35 a.m. from the Miami Airport Station after the arrival of the last scheduled Metrorail train.
Event-goers can board a train at any of Tri-Rail’s train stations from West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami with easy connections to get to and from Bayfront Park. The special Tri-Rail train will be available on all three nights of the festival. Friday regular fares are between $2.50 and $11.55 and weekend fares are just $5 all day. To save time and avoid lines, passengers can pre-load their EASY Cards with appropriate stored value to cover their transfers with Metrorail.
