Group Pavilions at InnoTrans: The ‘All-Round Carefree Package’ for Exhibitors

May 12, 2016
InnoTrans is the most important industry event, not only for global players but also for small and medium-sized companies.

InnoTrans is the most important industry event, not only for global players but also for small and medium-sized companies. For both logistical and organizational reasons, group pavilions on a regional or national basis, or related to a specific theme, offer an increasingly attractive and efficient form of participation for small and medium-sized companies. The exhibitors benefit from the concentrated economic strengths of a shared display, while the presence of many exhibitors helps to boost the image of the pavilion as a whole.

Making their debut this year at InnoTrans are the pavilions of Belgium and Tunisia, along with the German state of Hesse and the Portuguese group PFP (Plataforma Ferroviária Portuguesa).

’All-round carefree package’ at InnoTrans

60 exhibitors will be presenting their innovations, products and services from virtually all areas of transport technology under the umbrella of the Berlin/Brandenburg region, illustrating the important role that it plays in transport, the railways and logistics. The booth at the CityCube is being organised by the business and technology agency Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH and the Potsdam Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

“In addition to an attractively situated display area, the organisation of the trade show and booth construction, and the provision of support and services for the booths, a number of specialist events and visits by foreign delegations are also being arranged. To sum up: an all-round, carefree package”, is how Jens Ullmann, Director International Trade for the Potsdam Chamber of Industry and Commerce, describes the benefits for the exhibitors on the Berlin/Brandenburg pavilion.

Among other German displays with a large number of participants are those of the federal states of Saxony, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. The state of Hesse is making its debut in hall 9.

Increased international participation

The numerous group pavilions are also becoming increasingly international in character, with more than two thirds of them coming from abroad. Examples include the pavilions of the industry associations of China, Australia, Slovakia, Brazil, Taiwan, Japan, Poland and Denmark. Making their debut this year are the national pavilions of Belgium, Tunisia and Portugal.

The wide scope of InnoTrans with various sections devoted to specialist areas is one very convincing reason for overseas associations to attend. “The huge scale of InnoTrans offers our industry the chance to engage with many of the world’s organisations in one location rather than attending multiple smaller trade shows. That reduces costs“, says Peter Ironmonger from Austrade (Australian Trade and Investment Commission), which is organising the Australian pavilion.

Jan-Olof Björklund from SWERIG (Swedish Rail Industry Group), which has been exhibiting for many years at this event, emphasizes the synergies and other positive effects to be obtained from a combined display. “A group pavilion enables our smaller exhibitors to attract more attention from trade visitors“, says Björklund.
