Ignoring railroad gates and signals or crossing train tracks instead of using dedicated overpasses or underpasses to get to the other side of stations puts people in imminent and unnecessary danger, with potentially fatal results.
To remind the public of the dangers of walking along or cutting across its train tracks representatives from SEPTA’s System Safety Department will visit Ivy Ridge Station on the Authority’s Manayunk/Norristown Line. Approximately 10,900 riders use SEPTA’s Manayunk/Norristown Line every day, traveling through Philadelphia and Montgomery counties to Center City Philadelphia. More than 1,100 passengers use Ivy Ridge Station every weekday.
SEPTA's system safety officers, police officers, railroad operations staff and customer service representatives will be at the Ivy Ridge Station from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2016. SEPTA system safety officers regularly hold Safety Blitz outreach events at railroad, rail transit and bus stations across the Authority, reviewing regulations and precautions with passengers.
